In view of imparting quality education and nurturing excellence in the young minds for harmonious development of their personalities, Sri Guru Harkrishan Sr. Sec. Public School.Sultanwind Link Road came into existence under the aegis of Chief Khalsa Diwan, Amritsar. S. Tarlochan Singh, Chairman National Commission of Minorities inaugrated this School on 31 st March 2004.

Within a short span, the School has carved a niche for itself in the surroundings area. The conspicious acheivement lies in getting affiliated to CBSE ,New Delhi. The School has now been upgraded to Sen. Sec. Level. The Streams available are:-Medical,Non-Medical and Commerce.

Presently, the School is functioning under the able guidance of S. Santokh Singh Sethi, an educationist, S. Inderpal Singh Grover and humble stewardship of Mrs. Dapinder Kaur. The School is spread over Vast land measuring about 4 acres, by the side of G.T. Road, far from the madding crowd,Serene,Peaceful and Pollution-free atmoshere provids ideal and conducive environment for learning.

The Prayer Room :- The Prayer room ,where students recite their routine 'Path' and practice 'Sehaj Path' takes the children more close to the Almighty. Guru Granth Sahib Ji has been placed in this room which provides a sacred ambience to pay obeisance for the enrichment of souls and thus enables the students to growspiritiually.

The Playing Zones :- "All work and no play makes jack a dull boy" The vast and sprawling Paly-grounds of Hockey Volley­ ball, Basketball, Football, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Skating Rink (under construction) are one of the remarkable facets of the School. The events practised in these Zones infuse spirit of fervour, confidence and discipline in the students.

The Reading Zone:- The availability of a variety of reading material in the library provides ample opportunities to widen the horizon of the blooming buds. All the classes are provided with library period.

Research Centres:- Well equipped science laboratories add grandeur to the School building. Physics Chemistry and Biology laboratories widen the Practical approach of the students. The research and experiments promote scientific approach among the students.

Music Room :- it is said " If music be the food of soul, play it on". The vibrating Sa-Re-Ga-Ma echoing in the music room quenches the spiritual thirst. The talented ones gifted with melodious voice are spotted and trained. Special emphasis is laid on teaching the students to recite 'Path and hymns'

Art & Craft :- This room allows our budding artists to display their aestheic and creative skills. After sharpening their skins, they decorate their class rooms displaying their artistic work on the walls of their respective class-room.

Hi-tech Zone:- To meet with the contemporary demands of globalisation like fostering international understanding, excellence in Academics, Intellectual pursuits, the school is equipped with High-tech computer lab, a place where the students learn to use a wide variety of software packages to meet the challenges of Information Technology.

Dramatic Club:- This club exposes the talented activists to the stage. It churns out the creativity of the creative minds. The club has successfully presented the dramas like' Rang de Basanti Chola' 'Nawan Janam,' 'Cry of a the Girl',' Sirjana', Baishaki (Festival of Punjab), Jungle TeAadmi, Viyah.

Students Club :- The Students Club is successfully functioning in the School with the untiring and dedicated efforts of the teacher-lncharge, President, Vice President, Prefects and members of this club. The members visited 'Pingalwara' on the occasion of Diwali and 'International Cripple Day' donated a humble amount collected from the students . This club acknowledged the importance of'World Health Day', started the recitation of 'Mul Mantra' in each class before leaving the School,celebrated Gurupurab of Guru angad Dev Ji and Guru Arjan Dev Ji where they arranged Langar. The members of this club are committed to continue their activities in the future.

Environment Club :- The members of Environment club -cr~ate~ time to time awareness among their fellows regarding various enviommental issues like global warming, Air-Pollution, Vehicular Pollution and other environmental concerns. They motivate the children to plant more and more trees which is the solution to all the environmental problems.

Games and Sports :- Development of sports form an essential part of educational planning. 'Catch them young is Practised in the School. The vast and sprawling playgrounds of Volley-Ball, Football, Basketball, Badminton, Hockey,Kho-Kho,Kabbadi, are utilised to the fullest to groom the Personality of the Children. Besides, there are proper arrangements for Taekwondo Skating, Table Tennis and Chess. Every year School Participates in CKD Sports and Inter-School Competition and brings pride to the institution by successfully bagging prizes.

Inter-house Competitions :- Education to be complete must be humane, it must include not only training of the intellect, but also the refinement of the heart and the discipline of the spirit. The competitive spirit is being infused into the students by organising various Inter- house Competitions, Band Competitions,Debate and Declamation, Poetry recitation,Kite decoration,Dance contest, Fancy Dress contest, Group discussions and Essay writing Competition,Table manners etc.
