Bibi
Moolan Devi Khalsa Public School KIRATPUR SAHIB
(ROPAR) was established in 1950 by Bibi Moolan
Devi of Tehran (Iran). It is situated on the eastern
side of Gurdwara Kot Sahib in Kiratpur Sahib.
Originally it was a single-teacher school, but,
since 1994 the school has made excellent progress.
At present the number of teaching staff, including
the Principal, is nine. They all are very hard-working
and dedicated and take keen interest in up-lifting
the school to its highest standard.
The school is situated in a plot of about two
kanals which has been provided by the SGPC. Initially,
it had 7 small rooms, but, three big rooms and
a verandah have been added as a result of a donation
of Rs. 60,OOOA made by Sardar Bahadur S. Ujjal
Singh Trust, New Delhi, apart from a lot of money
spent by Baba Labh Singh Ji Kar Sewa Wale. However,
the school is facing problems due to the non-availability
of play-grounds for undertaking games and sports
for the students. The school is situated in a
hilly tract and hence, no suitable land is available
in and around the town. Affiliation The school
is affiliated to the Punjab School Education Board,
Mohali upto VIII standard. It has shown excellent
results of V and VIII Std. The parents of the
students are very much impressed with the working
of the school and the progress made by it during
the short period of six years.
