Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School, Kasail is a
co-educational institution offering education
from Pre-Nurscry to VI Standard. The school is
situated on Chheharta Chabhal road at a distance
of 12 km from Chheharta. The Sarpanch of Kasail
village S. Dilbag Singh participated in the educational
conference of Chief Khalsa Diwan at Amritsar held
in the year 1995 and offered a plot of 1 acre
in the village to start an English-medium Public
School, Ultimately the school was started on 3rd
March, 1996 by the Chief Khalsa Diwan, Amritsar.
Initially the Panchayat constructed a big hall
which was partitioned into 4 class-rooms with
a Verandah and a boundary wall around the school.
During the year 2000, 4 more class rooms with
a Verandah and a corridor were constructed on
the first floor of the building with the help
of local Gurdwara Committee and S. Dharmpal Singh
Dhillon a village dignitary. At present, the school
building consists of 8 class rooms.
There is a spacious playground on one side of
the school building. The strength of the school
is 170. It is said that a nation is as good as
its citizens, the citizens are as good as their
schools and the schools are as good as their teachers,
which means that the standard of the teachers
reflects the level of society. While appointing
the teachers, the Management is always conscious
about the qualities of a teacher.
There are 10 members of the teaching staff including
the Headmistress. All the staff members are qualified
and dedicated. Sports and games are an integral
part of education to make a child physically and
mentally sound, This also involves team spirit,
sportsmanship and co-operation. Our students actively
participate in inter-school competitions. Facilities
for the development of art and craft and to channelise
the creative ability are provided to the students.
Mere attaining of knowledge is not enough in life,
proper and well organized co-curricular activities
are an important part for sound education. For
the overall development of the students, the school
organizes co-curricular activities.
The students and staff of the school participate
in the annual Nagar Kirtan held by the villagers
. It celebrates annual Gurpurbs of Sikh Gurus.
Our students take part in the Mai Bhago religious
competition held at Chabbal by the Shiromani Gurudwara
Parbandhak Committee, Amritsar, and win prizes.
The future plan of the school Management is to
get the school affiliated to the Punjab School
Education Board, Mohali.
