The school was established on April 1, 1983 in
the village Gurdwara premises, with a very modest
strength, but in June, 1990 it shifted to its
newly constructed building, which is sufficient
to meet the present needs of the school. Aims
and Objectives " The basic aim is to provide quality
education to the children of this rural area.
Special emphasis is laid on moral and spiritual
values and teaching of Sikh religion, Sikh history
and culture. Campus * The school covers an area
of 55,000 sq.ft. which includes the main building
and the play grounds. At present, the school has
11 fully furnished, well lighted and ventilated
class rooms, a science laboratory, a library,
a computer room, a staff room and Principal's
office.
There are 14 well qualified and hard-working members
of the teaching staff who are imparting education
upto the TX Std. The total strength of students
on rolls is 306. Affiliation The school is affiliated
to the Punjab School Education Board, Mohali upto
the VIII std. Affiliation upto X std. with the
Punjab School Education Board, Mohali is under
active consideration of the Management. Sport
Facilities For the all round development and physical
fitness of students multifarious activities are
undertaken.
The school has adequate arrangements for games
and sports like Kho-Kho, Football, Volleyball,
Badminton and Athletics etc. Co-Curricular Activities
Various co-curricular activities like Quiz competitions,
Debates, Group Discussions and Extempore speeches
are organized in the school. Future Development
Plans Construction of two more class rooms, a
generator room, a cycle-shed, purchase of furniture
for library, computers for students, a generator
set and water cooler are the immediate future
development plans of the school
