BRIEF HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL

        Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School (Chief Khalsa Diwan) Model Town Hoshiarpur was set up by Chief Khalsa Diwan on 11th May, 1988.  It is  a co-educational  institute which provides value oriented education. It is run on Public School lines with English as medium   of  instruction. Special emphasis is laid on the Punjabi  Language and  Sikh philosophy.  It has been affiliated to Punjab School Education Board, Mohali (PB)
       Within  a  short  period  of  20  years, the  school  has  progressed  remarkably, academically under guidance of  the management  and  the  hard  work  of  the staff.
       There are 995 students on the roll at the moment. The school has a double storey building.
       There is a well equipped Library, Science Lab. and Computer Lab. to cater to the needs of the students of senior classes.
       The  school  has  shown  steady  and  phenomenal  progress  in  imparting  quality education to its  students. The result of school has been 100%  even  since X  std. class appeared for the first  time in  PSEB examination  in 1993.  A large number of students secured high percentage of marks standing in merit. Every year PSEB.’s results of VIII std. and X have also been 100%  and  besides merit students got positions at state level.

School Staff:
       For  imparting   quality  education  well  qualified,  experienced   and  competent committed to the pursuit of education  has been  appointed  which  devotes  its  entire attention in  fostering  moral values, fine  tastes and mental  faculties in  the students. They are striving to nurture them into well-disciplined students.

PROGRESS REPORT
       The school has shown steady and phenomenal progress in imparting quality education. The school  has duly  qualified  and  experienced  teacher  conversant  with modern educational  techniques and well versed in general education.

School Building: The school has double story building with all the facilities like water cooler, generator, well  ventilated  rooms and furniture. There is well equipped Sci. lab, Instead of that

1. New stage has been constructed during session 2008-09.
2. Computerized system for less collection has been implemented.

Educational Achievements: The result of our school is always 100%. Students of 8th and 10th classes get positions at state level.
Twelve students of 10th class get merit in board examination during session 2008-2009.

Co-curricular Activities: Students achieve positions in competitions held by PSEB at Block Level, District Level and participated at State level. Our students got 1st and 2nd & 3rd prized in Geet Gayan, Painting, Writing, Solo Dance and Kavishri.
Science Competition: Our school students also participated in Science dramas our school and got 1st and 2nd positions and also participated at National level.
       In model making, Chart making, science quiz and science dramas our school students got 1st and 2nd prizes at district level.
Gurmat Examination: In Annual Gurmat Examination held by Sikh Missionary College Ludhiana in October 72 students from our school has participated and got positions as under.
