History of the School :- Sri Guru Harkrishan Sen Sec. Public School ( CKD ) Chabhal running under the aegis of CKD is one of such reputed and unique institution which was established with an aim to venture students into new arenas to explore and learn with great confidencejand courage , where they could march forw ard to grow and d evelop indiv idually , academically,physically,intellectually and"ciilturally. We feel pride in stating that the school achieving its aim and moving towards success with a quick pace under the able guidance of the management administrators and with the dedicated and hard work of the teachers and above all the kind co-operation of parents. This Institution was established on April 26,1995 in a remote village ,Chabhal on Tarn Taran Road near Border area. With its tiredless efforts, this institution within a small period of 12 years has touched heights in every fields. This Institution inspite of being located in the remote area has won laurels in many fields and has also achieved the honour of being affiliated with CBSE New Delhi under the talented and able guidance of its MembepjinyChargel S. Narinder Singh Khurana and S. Manmohan Singh Sethi.

Ours beings an English Medium School lays due emphasis on spoken English and follows CBSE pattern of teaching. The school started with 9 students on its roll now has 700 students. We feel pride in stating that the students of class X have brought laurels by showing remarkable performance i.e 100% result in CBSE Board Examination held in March 2007. Rimpledeep Kaur and Bhupinder Kaur of Class X secured 1st & Ilnd position in CBSE Board Examination March 2007 in Distt TarnTaran .

•  Our Hallowed Portals :- we abound in 2.6 acres at Tarn Taran Road , Chabhal, Distt Tarn Taran with 3031 sq.mts. of covered area and 7490 sq.mts. of open area. Spacious and sprawling school campus is serene and stimulates learning by doing in a position and motivating atmosphere . It has sincere, hardworking and dedicated staff preparing the students to face all the challenges of life. The school is located in a pollution free environment with separate block for Pre-Primary, Primary and Secondary section. The Pre-Primary wing has whispering walls with beautiful pictures of birds, Animals, rhymes etc.which makes the children learn in natural environment through playway method.

•  Our Aim :- The school has a commitment to the care and growth of each child as a whole with the provision of quality environment that is stimulating and enriching , ensuring that a child develops to the fullest potential Physically, Intellectually, Emotionally, Socially and morally. The school motto "Work is Worship" expresses the commitment that the school wishes to inculcate in its pupils.

•  Infrastructure :- The school has 44 rooms , a separate administrative block equipped with latest computer technology, full fledged computer Laboratory , fully equipped Mathematics Laboratory and Science Laboratory with modern equipments and to quench the thirst of knowledge of the students fully equipped Library which is extended every year,

Music room and activity room to develop the skill of the students. It also has sprawling play ground for different games. The school provides water coolers with aqua guard to ensure safe drinking water to the students , provides the facilities of Hot case , generator and school vans to solve conveyance problem of the students coming from far off places.

•  Sports achievements :- Our institution well recognizes that physical activities help in creating well rounded individuals, so sports are made an integral part of education process. The school fosters the concept of fitness, teamwork , discipline through a variety of sports. Our students participated in different sports competitions. In Interschools tournaments organized by Education Committee headed by CKD , our school bagged first position in Handball Junior, Second position in Kho-Kho Junior and Third position in Basket ball Junior team. In primary Athletics our school also bagged oy er all first posi tio n . In addition laurels were added by our Kho-Kho team by securing first position, Basket Ball team second positidn and fencing team third position in Distt. TarnTaran.

•  Co-Curricular activities :- In order to ensure all round development of the students , the school provides a series of activities aimed at the holistic development of the students. Every year various Inter-house competitions, Inter-School Competitions science seminars, educational tours, Cultural programmes and sports are arranged in which students bring home laurels. Students choose their activities according to their interests and aptitude like dance, cooking, candle making, embroidery, calligraphy , public speaking, drama, soft toy making, emboss & glass painting etc. The students are prepared for religious examinations conducted by Sikh Missionary Ludhiana & S.G.P.C. Amritsar. In these exams our 61 students got merit & 7 students got a scholarship of Rs 1200/- each annually.In Indian Computer Knowledge competition organized by NRIKD Chennai 2006 our 62 students participated out of which one child secured 2 n position in all India level and received silver medal and rest have secured A and B grades . The students result, right from the beginning have been excellent at Board level examination and our students have successfully gained admission in various professional institutions of their choice.

As for future we have many plans many a promise to keep many hopes to be fulfilled and miles to go before we say that we have attained what we wanted to. Under the proper care and guidance of our respectable member-In-Charges S. Narinder Singh Khurana and S. Manmohan Singh Sethi.
